Part One: Cartoon Corner: Thanks To Cartoonist John Fewings;

I am grateful to cartoonist John Fewings for his permission to publish his cartoon of Dr. Charles Smith;

This is the first cartoon to be published by The Charles Smith Blog.

Others will follow;

(Our first photo - Dr. Smith's office at the Hospital for Sick Children - ran on Nov. 28, 2007 under the caption: "Dr. Smith's Office: Part Two; The photo);

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a fine cartoon like this one must be worth at least 1500.

Cartoonists like Fewings have the wonderful knack of reducing over-inflated people down to size.

According to his web-site:

"John Fewings was born in Simcoe, Ontario in 1955.

He began drawing caricatures of his high school teachers to 'piss them off' and get laughs from his friends. It worked on both counts.

His first editorial cartoons appeared in The Port Dover Maple Leaf and The Simcoe Reformer.

He now resides in Peterborough, Ontario with Gale, Josh and their border collie, Buddy, working as a freelance graphic designer/cartoonist.

A regular contributor to The Peterborough Examiner and The Toronto Sun, he also appears in the annual Portfoolio of the best of Canadian Editorial Cartoons".

His works can be found at http://www.fewings.ca....
